Community Networking Socials
AVA’s monthly veteran socials serve as a cornerstone of the organization’s Social Connection pillar, creating welcoming opportunities for veterans, service members, military families, and community supporters to build meaningful relationships beyond their military service. These gatherings help combat isolation, strengthen peer-to-peer support networks, and foster a sense of belonging by connecting individuals who share common experiences and challenges. Through consistent engagement in a positive, low-pressure environment, AVA’s socials encourage camaraderie, community involvement, and personal resilience, while also serving as an entry point to the organization’s broader programs focused on physical well-being, mental health, and economic stability.
Our Community Engagement
AVA actively partners with community organizations such as Parish Proud and Catholic Charities of Acadiana to create meaningful opportunities for veterans to engage, serve, and connect within the communities they call home. Through volunteer projects, neighborhood revitalization efforts, community events, and service initiatives, veterans are empowered to continue living a life of purpose while building relationships with fellow veterans and local residents. These partnerships strengthen social connections, foster civic engagement, and reinforce a sense of belonging, helping veterans remain active contributors to their communities while promoting positive mental, emotional, and social well-being.
